Chemical Engineer

Key responsibilities

- Design, develop, and implement plant modification projects, ensuring robust hazard evaluations and HAZOP studies.

- Scope risk assessments, perform calculations, recommend testing, lead HAZOP sessions, refine designs, and maintain risk documentation.

- Ensure compliance with legal standards and industry codes of practice.

- Collaborate with project teams to create plant layouts, designs, costings, and proposals for approval.

- Provide technical expertise to support process improvements and practical research solutions.

- Advise on design, safety, materials, and processing techniques for colleagues, clients, and contractors.

- Lead projects, managing budgets, designs, and delivery to meet operational targets.

- Organise design, commissioning, and resource allocation to achieve production goals.

 

Qualifications and experience

- Degree in Chemical Engineering (essential).

- Minimum 5 years’ relevant industrial experience

- Hands-on experience in plant commissioning and troubleshooting

- Knowledge of COMAH regulations, DSEAR methodology, SIL, LOPA assessments, and relief system sizing (DIERS methodology).
